A challenge to Mormons

This is a challenge to Mormons that do not understand the position of an LDS critic. I have personally been challenged quite a bit by Mormons in my time.

  • They asked me to read the Book of Mormon, I did.
  • They asked me to read the Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price, I did.
  • They asked me to fast and pray about it, I did.
  • They asked me to take the missionary discussions, I did.
  • They asked me to attend LDS Conference, I did.
  • They asked me to attend LDS Institute, I did.
  • They asked me to meet with the Bishop, I did.
  • They asked me to meet with the Stake President, I did.

    And

  • They asked me to betray what I beleived to be the truth, and I did NOT.

In this challenge, I will not ask you to betray what you believe is the truth. I think you should continue in your beliefs if they are what you honestly and sincerely believe. However, I think that if you are in this forum to learn more about Mormonism from another perspective, I encourage you to read "Mormonism: Shadow or Reality?" by Gerald and Sandra Tanner. I think this book will provide you with the basics of what LDS critics argue. The book costs less than twenty dollars and is one of the most comprehensive books ever made by a LDS critic (IMO).
